My first doll

Here is a picture of my very first attempt at doll making. I really wanted to start making toys and dolls that I can feel good about giving--without worry of lead poisoning. :)

She doesn't have a name yet, but the girls think I should name her Alaina, since she has her hair. :)

Great job, Chris. I always wanted to get into making dolls...dabbled in a few. Go for it.

Peace is every step said...

I love it! Love the cute bathrobe ensemble too.

I love it! She is so adorable! Did you use a pattern or go from scratch?

I love making dolls, its been such a stress reliever for me. Your first attempt is much better then mine was :)

Thanks all! Yeah, I made her from scratch. I stuffed her with organic wool, and her skin is made from stretchy cotton fleece. It was really fun making the face--you roll up a tight ball of wool, then stuff it in some stretchy gauze, then tie string around her head in different ways to make cheeks and a chin and nose. I can't wait to start my next one.

I love your doll, Chrissie!! It is so cute in person-the picture doesn't do it justice (:
